Christmas in Hilltown

We went to Hilltown for the week to see everyone before Christmas. Alex met lots of her relatives. And bonded with Tara. So much so that Tara started to hide as soon as she saw Alex coming. Apparently there is such a thing as too many hugs. It was great to see so many people even if Alex was suffering from a bad cold and generously decided to share her displeasure with everyone. Heigh ho. Perhaps she will be her normal cheery self the next time we visit.

Making the Christmas Cake

Alex has grown a bit since we mixed the cake last year.

Expensive Tastes

So after discovering the secret for making concrete in the comfort of my own kitchen with nothing more than some pulverised porridge oats and milk I made potato pancakes (with Smash!) and smoked salmon (thanks Dad) for breakfast.

I gave Alex some of the pancakes and put a slice of the salmon on top. I really didn't expect her to eat it. But I when I turned round the salmon had disappeared. I've checked all the nooks and crannies of the highchair and under the table and all I can say is that we have a toddler with very expensive tastes!

Of course why this surprises me I certainly don't know. Yesterday I made her pasta and cheese sauce for lunch and had left over spicy noodles for myself. Or at least that was the plan. Apparently Alex loves spicy noodles.

Still Fluffy

Alex had all her mad fluffy hair cut off this morning. Or that was the plan. Apparently the hair underneath the mad fluffy hair was pretty fluffy too.

Chocolate Cake
