A New Place to Sit

I was tidying up after breakfast and all of a sudden I noticed that it had gone very quiet. When I went out to look to see what she was up to I found Alex sitting here on the top of the shoe rack.

Autumn is here

Actually Autumn seems to be nearly gone already. The Botanic Gardens, where Alex and I hang out on a Monday morning, has been a mass of colour as the leaves change. But now there are only a few bushes and trees with any leaves at all.

Alex hasn't been well this week. The nursery sent her home early last Wednesday because they thought she might be getting Chickenpox but it turned out to be just a bad cold. She such a sad wee thing. She just sat on our knees and snuggled for a couple of days. And then when she was getting better but not actually better she was in a vile temper. Perhaps we all are when we're ill. Perhaps we all want to stomp off and sit in the hall and throw the recycling paper about. She seems to be on the road to recovery now so hopefully she'll be completely back to her happy bunny self.

The other downside of Alex having a cold is that there is no way to escape it ourselves. She still doles out hundreds of big kisses. Big snotty kisses. It's very sweet really. No, honestly. Sorry about your cold Mum!
