Apples and Fight Club
The apples were very tart. She still managed to eat quite a lot of it though. Here's a wee video of Alex eating the spoon. She does want to hold the spoon herself .
It does look as though Alex and Ian have had a fist fight and Alex has won. Alex cut her thumb this evening and the process of stopping the bleeding and getting a plaster on it was very messy. As you can see she was quite calm about it once we had managed to get the plaster on.
Hat Police
So Alex and I are walking round the town. I was hoping that she might doze off and she must have popped a couple of pro plus before leaving the house.
While we were out the hat fell down over Alex's eyes. A woman sidled over to me and said "Mummy my hat is over my eyes". Is this normal? To speak to another grown up in the voice of their baby?

Botanic Garden
After leaving Mum off at the train station Alex was looking a bit weary so I thought I'd take her for a walk so she could snooze in the buggy. When we got to the bottom of Station Road I noticed the entrance to the Botanic Gardens was open so I thought I'd have a look.
Oh they're lovely. We just walked through the Autumn and Winter Gardens which are only one corner of the gardens. It was really beautiful even though it was such a grey day. I think we will start going there often. The fact that there is a nice cafe tucked away in the centre only makes it more enticing.

A Busy Day
Yesterday was very busy. In the morning Alex was managing to get her belly off the ground and her knees tucked under her in a very about to crawl kind of way.
Then in the afternoon she had her first real food - rice cereal. I won't call it solid food for it was barely less liquid that her normal milk.
Later in the afternoon we found that her first tooth is just breaking the surface. Its just a sharp ridge along her gum at the moment. How long does it take before it rises up to become a little white tooth?
It was all go, go, go. Oh and because of the tooth thing Alex had her first dose of Calpol which went down very easily and seemed to help enormously.

Sam and Alan Visited
Sam and Alan visited last weekend. We had a lovely time and spent a pleasant afternoon wandering round beer gardens - despite Sam's "detox diet" :-)
There are yet more photographs of them all on the Photos Of Alex blog.
