Swimmers

We took Alex to Parkside, the big swimming pool at the bottom of Mill Rd, a few weeks ago. She is normally really good in the bath and loves to splash but I was a bit worried that the size of the place and the loud echoey swimming pool acoustics would scare her. It was no bother to her at all. She loved the pool and stared all around trying to see everything.

Christmas Cake

I made and iced our Christmas cake this year. I am inordinately proud of it. Look! See how lovely and smooth that icing is.

Carols at Kings

I don't think I'll bother queueing for tickets for the carol service at Kings this year.

Santa

Alex met Santa at the FSID Christmas party. I think Santa (Anna's brother roped in to help) was even more startled than Alex.

Getting to sitting

This morning, for the very first time, Alex managed to get from lying down to sitting up all on her own. Of course it could take weeks before she ever does it again. Or perhaps never. After all she spent a day rolling from her tummy to her back and then _never_ did it again. But if she can get from her tummy to sitting up and she can get from sitting up to pulling herself up to standing then the cot won't be the safe place any more!

Anyway, Hurrah!
