Patacake Day Nursery
We have just started to send Alex to the Patacake Day Nursery. Its only for a couple of hours twice a week but we're (well I certainly am) hoping that it'll give me a bit of a break mid week and allow the Empress to socialise with other children.
Friday was the first day she stayed in the nursery without me. It was only meant to be for an hour and a half to see how she got on but when I arrived to collect her she was having a nap. Apparently she got a bit tired and tearful but still refused to lie down and sleep. They put her in a buggy and pushed her around for a bit and she was out like a light. That sounds like Alex alright.
She had had a good time up until the nap. There is a silvered barrier between the little babies and the bigger ones and she spent a lot of the time rattling it, looking at her own reflection and babbling.
Her key worker seems to be lovely and I've heard nothing but good reports about her so that is reassuring.
On Tuesday we're going to leave her there for the full three hours. I am planning to go wild and use the free time to go for a run and have a bath. I think it will be a short run and a long bath.
