Went to see Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) last night. Well, a huge amount of character information, specially Maturins, was left out and the plot was lifted from a number of the the Aubrey/Maturin books but if you liked the books it was worth seeing for the ships alone.

And although they didn't have Aubrey attempting to speak french (always amusing in the books) they did at least insure that he had a number of puns.
