Fennel Tea and Big Bottom Burps

Oh the screaming this evening! And tears! Tears rolling down her cheeks. It wasn't a fun evening for Alex at all. We did all the usual calming things and nothing worked for more than five minutes at a time.

So we all ended up sitting in Alex's room. Ian was holding her sitting up on the changing mat as she cried and cried. It was the first time we've seen tears roll down her cheeks. It was awful. And then, suddenly, there was a huge fart and she filled her nappy. Immediately she was a different baby. All smiles and curiousity. The big book of What On Earth is the Baby Doing Now and Frances recommend Infacol for excess wind so I'll go and buy some tomorrow.

But while I was googling Infacol to see what it was I found a few people recommending fennel tea for baby's wind problems. And I had just run out of fennel tea a couple of days ago. Coincidence? Almost certainly. But now I'm going to have to add the wind problem to my letter to Prince Charles about the tea's amazing properties.

The bath Ian gave her was a big hit though. He took her out of the bath chair and held her in the water so she could splash around more. She really loved it and didnt mind when the side of her face was in the water when she turned her head until she got water up her nose. Well everyone hates that. No need to worry, we were very careful - Ian had a good grip on her all the time without exception.
