Training Begins!

I ran, without stopping, from our house to Newmarket Road (0.6 miles). Big round of applause! It is a couple of streets further than I expected which is nice but it does highlight just how much work there is still to do.

Once I got across Newmarket Rd I ran the training intervals from the Bob Glover running book (Two minute walk breaks and run 1-1-2-2-1-1). This got me to the half way mark (just past the Pike and Eel on Stourbridge Common and back to the road.

That done I decided to run up the two hills on the way back and walk between them. The second hill really is more of a gentle slope. And a short gentle slope at that.

Close to home by this stage I sprint/walked between the alternating lamp posts until I got to our street.

And then I collapsed in a heap.
