Well I got home ok last night with only an hours delay. My good boots weren't much use at walking on the the inch of ice that is still coating the footpaths and roads in Cambridge. Treacherous stuff. But I managed to get home without falling over which is good and today I'm flaunting the dress codes and wearing my hiking boots to work!

Ian however did not have such a good journey. His train broke down closer to London than to Cambridge and none of the attempts to restart it worked. Apparently the emergency electricity on the trains only lasts a couple of hours and after than you get to sit in the cold and the dark. Lucky enough he had bought emergency provisions and there was a nice japenese chap sharing his sake so at least he had something to eat and drink. He arrived home around one. His dinner had been in the proverbial oven a very long time.

Oh and I saw John today. He was going up the escalators at KingsX while I was going down. We shouted hellos as we passed.
