George's Christening.
George's christening was on Sunday. Here are some of the photos we took with the digital camera. We took some more with the filum camera as well but haven't had them developed yet.

Downpour
How long do you think I could sit inside and listen to the thunder, lightning and rain before I realise I have left my handbag outside on the patio table? Quite a while!

Dreamspace Nightmare
Oh no. The Dreamspace is one of my favourite bits of art. It never occured to me it could be deadly. The video is shocking.

Mobile
Mum bought Alex one of these mobiles when she was over last. It came with all sorts of developmental claims. I don't know if the claims are true or not but Alex loves it. She watches the wee goggley eyed animals go round and round for ages at a time.
I was so impressed I went and bought the book thing they make which also seems to be very successful. Hurrah!

Too Sunny
No let up in the weather here. The room thermometer went up to 31 at one point. Alex was a complete doll until about four o'clock when she completely lost it. We tried the cool bath, putting her in the sling and doing the laundry (surprisingly successful) and a couple of extra feeds but in the end nothing calmed her. Hurrah then for the magic pram. It was finally cool enough to consider going outside so I put a vest on her and off we went - as far as the garden. She was flat out. So I sat down and read the paper. Still not a peep out of her. Time passed so I moved the pram back into the kitchen and made dinner. Still asleep. Ate dinner. Still asleep.
This is what comes of no naps during the day. I worry that we'll be up all night instead but to be honest she was having such a rotten time that I'm happy she slept through some of it and damn the consequences!
We were meant to have rain today as well. I was really looking forward to it. But no. Just hot, sunny weather all day. How my weather requirements have changed! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as hot but after that the temperature plumets into the high 20s! Hurrah?

First Trip to the Cambridge Blue

Alex is unconvinced by her first outing to a pub.

The Cambridge Blue does have a very nice beer garden that is open to children until nine o' clock. So we thought, as the weather was wonderful at the weekend, we'd take her out for a quick drink. It almost worked. She does love the pram so she was quiet settled by the time we got there. But it wasn't too long before she woke and started to cry.
