Vroom vrrrrooom
We went to Hull this weekend to visit Paula and Simon in their new house. Ian's car is lovely and quiet on the inside. Its quite unnerving to begin with!
The house is a wonderful multi-level Victorian end of terrace. Its a long climb all the way to the guest room at the top but this is probably the only thing that saves you from Terry Henry (the new cat) pouncing on you in the middle of the night!
Good craic was had. As was beer. And gin and tonics.

Fred Whisker
Fred Whisker, what a fabulous name. Fred did the talk at last nights camera club meeting. Lots and lots and lots of photos. Some great stuff and a lot of intermediate prints. Most of his work is low light dance shoots. You do have to wholeheartedly embrace the notion of huge grain.
An amazingly spritely man for his age. He was so animated that we did wonder if he should have been a dancer himself.
Here is an example of his work.

Civilisation
There is a game called Civilisation, it eats up huge chunks of time in our house. Its nice to see it has the same effect on other people.

Hit and Run!
Poor Stuart was hit by a car last night on his way home. Well, his bike was. The car went through a red light, hit him, paused long enough to see that he got up and sped off. He's all cut and bruised but ok. His bike is trashed though. To cheer him up his brother made him this.

Rainy Rock
I think we were hard done by. When we went to the dry heart of Australia it was dry. Everyone else seems to have been there for the rain.

Fruit
I've started buying a bag of fruit from a bloke in the tube station. Its a quid a bag of random fruit. Today I got two apples, a banana, a greengage and a single strawberry. I assume this isn't good value compared to going to Tescos and stocking up on a big bag of fruit but this way the fruit actually makes it to work where it is eaten rather than staying at home and going mouldy.
The fruit man should be a chirpy cockney with some sort of unintelligible cry. But no. Another stereotype ruined.

Oh I'm going to have to try to be a bit obsessive at the weekend as well. Never mind. Next weekend I'll keep track then as well.
Spent a lot off money on photographic paper and ink today. Definitely going to enter some of the camera club competitions this year so I'm finally putting together a portfolio.
